Havana, Feb 3 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Wednesday expressed his gratitude to Barbadian Prime Minister Mia Mottley for supporting Cuba's cooperation with the world in health matters.
'We appreciate the expressions of support and acknowledgement by Barbadian Prime Minister Mia Mottley of Cuba's cooperation and solidarity with other countries in the field of medicine to strengthen the capacity to protect the population, the president tweeted.
On Tuesday, Mottley urged the world to distinguish Cuba's contribution to other nations in the field of medicine, and highlighted the work done in her country by over 100 doctors, nursers and clinical laboratory specialists from Cuba.
At the Forum of Ministers of the Environment of Latin America and the Caribbean, held virtually, the prime minister spoke in favor of establishing a collaborative and coordinated approach to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since March 2020, Cuban healthcare experts from the Henry Reeve Medical Contingent have visited some 40 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, Africa and the Middle East to support efforts in the fight against the novel coronavirus.
