Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, strongly condemned the recent attacks carried out by Israel against Iran.
"We condemn in the strongest terms the attacks perpetrated by Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran, as they irresponsibly escalate tensions in the Middle East and endanger international and regional peace and security, with unpredictable consequences," the Cuban president stated in a post on the social media platform X.
The Cuban leader called for an end to the violence and urged respect for international law.
In the early hours of Friday morning, Israel launched a surprise attack on the Iranian capital and several locations across the country as part of an operation dubbed "Rising Lion," targeting Iran’s civilian nuclear program.
In addition to airstrikes, Israel has also carried out terrorist actions against Iranian government officials and scientists, resulting in civilian casualties, including deaths and injuries.
