The next hurricane or tropical storm to be formed in the Atlantic Ocean will be named Wilfred, the last name on the list for phenomena of this type of the current hurricane season, deemed as the most active in 54 years.

According to meteorologists, in September 1966, eight weather events of that kind were recorded, Wilfred - preceded by Nana, Omar, Paulette, Rene, Sally, Teddy and Vicky - would be the eighth now in 2020.

Once the list of names for tropical storms and hurricanes is exhausted, the Greek alphabet will start - Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Theta, etc.

Before August 1, nine cyclones were formed: Arthur, Bertha, Cristobal, Dolly, Edouard, Fay, Gonzalo, Hanna and Isaías.

The continuity of that kind of phenomena was unstoppable in the 8th month of the year and 3rd of the season, with the appearance of Josephine, Kyle, Laura and Marco.

However, the data from anticipated records in 2020 is not only the early formation of tropical storms.
