Santiago de Cuba, Feb 2 (Prensa Latina) With its 11th album under the title, 'Y sigo pa'lante' (I Move Forward) and the consolidation of the 'Salon del Son' as a space for the best Cuban music, the Septeto Santiaguero celebrates 26 years here on Tuesday.

Of those sound productions, two won Grammy Awards, in 2015 and 2018, with 'No quiero llanto,' (I Do Not Want Any Crying) 'Tributo a Los Compadres' (Tribute to the Fellows), and 'A mi que' (I Do Not Mind). In addition, they got a Tribute to the Cuban classics, as well as other nominations for the Latin award and one for the Anglo-Saxon one.

Amid restrictions due to Covid-19, which prevented a greater celebration for the quarter century throughout 2020, Fernando Dewar the group's director insisted on sustaining the artistic projection, offering his proposal, as far as possible, to the public that follows him and his group.

Hence, the plaque's name, which summarizes the will to continue beyond those first 26 years and, although it will not be a compilation, it will reflect milestones in this fruitful stage with anthological pieces of their own and of the national pentagram.

The director noted the will to continue making incursions into the work of contemporary creators, without departing from the attachment to what is most deeply rooted in the musical evolution of Cuba.

During an appearance in connection with the process for the new phonogram, the producer and tres player thanked the Siboney label, of the Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales company, for its support in the most recent works of the Septeto and other groups of Cuban traditional music.
