Paris, Dec 30 (RHC) The France Cuba association recognized the island's resistance during 2022 in the face of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States and events that aggravated the impact of that policy.

This was a year of resistance for Cuban society, which also had to overcome tragedies such as the explosion at the Saratoga Hotel in Havana, the fire at the Supertanker Base in Matanzas, and the effects of Hurricane Ian in Pinar del Rio, it stressed

In a message of good wishes to the people of Cuba for the arrival of 2023 and the 64th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution, the association also highlighted the efforts of the Government to protect the population in such complex circumstances.

France Cuba reiterated its condemnation of the U.S. blockade, which it described as genocidal, and denounced the consequences for the West Indian nation of the tightening of the siege by the administration of Donald Trump (2017-2021), with "243 coercive measures," most of them maintained by his successor in the White House, Joseph Biden.

It also stressed solidarity with the Caribbean country, maintained for more than six decades of the existence of the organization, one of the oldest of its kind in Europe.

We will continue to be present at Cuba's side in all circumstances, to disseminate the successes of its political, economic, and social model, in particular its human dimension, demonstrated in an exemplary manner during Covid-19 and despite Washington's blockade, it said.

In his message, France Cuba confirmed its participation, with several delegates, in the V International Conference for the Balance of the World, scheduled to take place in Havana from January 24 to 28 next year. (Source: PL)
