Havana, Sep 7 (Prensa Latina) The National Library of Cuba, in Havana, dedicated its monthly The Author and His Work event on Wednesday to historian Alberto Prieto, 2019 National Social, and Humanistic Sciences and 2020 History award winner.

The panelists highlighted his work as a researcher and professor, as well as his books on Latin America, and his coherent trajectory in defense of the Cuban revolutionary process, National Library Director Omar Valiño wrote on Twitter.

A full member of the Cuban Academy of History since its re-foundation, Prieto teaches undergraduate and graduate courses systematically at the University of Havana, the Higher Institute of International Relations, and other Cuban academic institutions.

He has also given lectures and courses at prestigious universities in Germany, Nicaragua, Mexico, the United States, and France.

His books include “Fidel y la Revolucion” (Fidel and the Revolution), whose second edition was presented in early August, as well as “Procesos revolucionarios en America Latina,” “Evolucion de America Latina: de la Revolucion cubana a la actualidad,” and “Vision integra de America”.
