Cuba's Ministry of Culture will pay tribute to writer Eliseo Diego

Cuba's Ministry of Culture (MINCULT) arranged a tribute program on the birth centenary of the writer Eliseo Diego, to be held on July 2, according to the institution.

On Diego's birth centenery, Cuban cultural institutions will carry out events related to the life and work of the 1986 National Literature Prize.

The Jose Marti National Library (BNJM), the Cuban Book Institute, the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, the Hermanos Saiz Association, and the Dulce Maria Loynaz Cultural Center, are among the entities promoting the homage.

According to the MINCULT, the date's celebration mainly involves the publication of Diego's work, documents and photos on social networks.

The BNJM will publish a dossier and La Jiribilla cultural magazine will dedicate its next week's issue to the notable Cuban intellectual, and on July 2 a placard will be placed at his native house in this capital.

On the anniversary day, an event will take place at BNJM in which poets, actors, scholars of Diego's work and troubadours will take part, as well as audiovisual projections and a bibliographic exhibition will be inaugurated.
