Port-au-Prince, Jul 8 (Prensa Latina) Collaborators of the medical brigade and the community of Cuban residents in Haiti are doing well, amid the latest events that marked the country with the assassination of its president, Jovenel Moïse.
 
Elizabeth Segura, second head of mission of the Cuban Medical Brigade, confirmed to Prensa Latina that the over 250 specialists remain in their homes and no incidents were recorded.

Haiti experienced a tense day on Wednesday, after an armed commando broke in the early hours into the presidential house, killed the president and wounded his wife, Martine Moïse, who is recovering in a hospital in the United States.

The consul of the Greater Antilles, Alexis Peña Orozco, stated he maintained contacts with the community of Cuban residents and so far he has no reports that any of them have faced difficulties.

Also the president of the Association of Cuban Residents, Graciela Limonta, made a call to stay informed, establish communication, and follow the indications of the local authorities.

This Thursday the director of the Police, León Charles, confirmed that they arrested six allegedly implicated in the murder of the head of state and another seven died during clashes with law enforcement officers.

The assault took place at dawn on Wednesday, and according to initial reports, Moïse received at least 12 high-caliber bullet wounds.

This morning citizens arrested two other allegedly implicated, while the Government relaxed the state of siege measures decreed the day before.
