Camagüey, Cuba, Mar 17 (Prensa Latina) The province of Camagüey can boast today of two of the youngest parliamentary candidates to the National People's Power Assembly of Cuba, both members of the University Students Federation (FEU).

The proposals for Parliament, approved at the highest levels of the organization, include Laura Mariam Bacallao among those nominated.

Really when one understands that the concerns are taken into account and solidifies as a candidacy, one understands that the country is in the hands of young people,” 22-year-old Bacallao told Prensa Latina.

Then we have to be more aware of our role. The new generations. And they go from the pioneers who guard the ballot boxes, who are finally the future of our country,” she said.

Regarding the policies that the country is adopting in the social and economic order, the student of Journalism at the University of Camagüey, commented, “I think that as a young person there is much to improve with respect to policies on childhood, adolescence, and youth, because there is the responsibility of their formation.

There are many phenomena such as cultural colonization, the treatment of values that lead us to work with students and mass organizations precisely for the future of the new generations,” she said.
