Cuban Trova to be played in the Basque Country

Cuban singer songwriter Frank Delgado will begin a tour of Spain with a day of solidarity with Cuba in Sodupa, Basque Country, on Saturday, and will also give concerts in Madrid, Catalonia, and Andalusia, organizers announced on Friday.
Delgado’s first performance in Sodupa will precede the inauguration of an exhibition, a popular lunch, and a lecture on “Cuba: Present and Future,” Cubainformación stated.
Along with Santiago Feliú, Carlos Varela, and Gerardo Alfonso, Frank Delgado is one of the most renowned exponents of the second generation of the so-called New Song Movement. He has given solo concerts in more than 20 countries, Spanish digital media informed.
After Sodupa, Delgado, who was born in 1960, in the municipality of Consolación del Sur, in Pinar del Rio Province , will perform in other Basque Country cities.
This musical tour was coordinated by the Casa de la Bombilla Verde (Green Light Bulb House), an emblematic cultural center located in Havana’s Vedado district and is devoted in promoting Cuban trova music with strong ties to the Basque culture.
Also in Spain is Cuban young singer and radio and television presenter Annie Garcés, accompanied by guitarist Eduardo Corcho.
They performed in Valencia on Thursday evening as part of a tour of four other cities, where Garcés will sing children’s songs.
Garcés and Corcho will also perform at the Workers World Festival on September 29-30, an event organized by the Communist Party of Spain, which will conclude in Rivas-Vaciamadrid municipality, in the Madrid region, on October 1.
