Moscow, Nov 18 (Prensa Latina) Russian Vice President Dmitry Chernyshenko and Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas headed the 19th Session of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Scientific-Technical Collaboration between the two countries, local media reported in Moscow on Friday.

The two sides addressed issues related to Cuba’s leading economic and social development programs in energy, transportation, education, agriculture, public health, culture, tourism, science, technology, and environment.

Both delegations agreed to work so as to approve a new Bilateral Economic Agenda that includes the main areas and strategic directions of bilateral cooperation in the economic, commercial, financial, and collaboration spheres, with a perspective until 2030.

The international situation, including causes that have current negative impact on the development of both countries, was also assessed, particularly the tightened economic, commercial, and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba and the unjust sanctions imposed on Russia.

Finally, both delegations agreed that the 20th session of this Commission would take place in Havana in 2023 and whose date will be fixed later.

During his visit to Moscow, Cabrisas also held meetings with Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and Ivan Melnikov, Vice-Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma or Lower House of Parliament.
