Havana, Mar 3 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez denounced that nothing will be able to repair the damage caused to Cuban families by the extreme measures adopted by the United States based on falsehoods.

In his Twitter profile, the foreign minister noted: "After abusing unfounded accusations to impose measures against Cuba and set back bilateral relations, finally the U.S. intelligence community admits that there was no attack against its diplomats in Cuba, or elsewhere."

He stressed that this is the same conclusion reached, after a rigorous investigation, by the team of Cuban experts, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the scientists who prepared the Jason report.

The day before, The Washington Post reported that U.S. intelligence agencies ruled out that the mysterious ailments reported by U.S. diplomats in Havana in 2016 were due to attacks by a foreign adversary.

According to the digital version of the news outlet, which cites officials familiar with the investigation, it is unlikely that an enemy in possession of a secret weapon is behind the rare conditions.

Seven intelligence agencies were involved in reviewing approximately 1,000 cases of “abnormal health incidents,” the term the US government uses to describe a range of physical symptoms that include ringing in the ears followed by pressure in the head and nausea, headaches, and discomfort.

Five of these determined that it was “highly unlikely” that a foreign adversary was responsible for the symptoms, either as a result of intentional actions, such as a directed energy weapon or as a byproduct of some other activity, including electronic surveillance, he said.

The officials said they found no evidence, including forensic information or geolocation data, to suggest that an opposing country used a form of directed energy, such as radio waves or ultrasonic rays, he added.

The symptoms felt by US diplomats were first reported at the US embassy in Havana in 2016, and although similar incidents were later described in India, Russia, Vietnam, and even in Washington, there were only reprisals against Cuba. (Source: Prensa Latina)
