Cuban Ambassador Claudio Monzon Baeza thanked Koo Hu-yeon, president of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO).

KBO said on the same day, "Cuban Ambassador to Korea Claudio Monzon Baeza visited KBO on the 22nd."

Ambassador Claudio Monzon Baeza thanked President Hu Ju-yeon for providing Cuban players with opportunities to get closer to Korean baseball fans through the Ulsan-KBO Fall League in Ulsan in October last year and the 2024 K-BASEBALL SERIES with TVING at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul in November.

It also stressed that baseball serves as an important medium to add intimacy between the two countries, even though it has only been about a year since Korea and Cuba established diplomatic ties.

In response, President Hu Jie-yeon expressed his willingness to cooperate with the Cuban Embassy in Korea to find ways to continue exchanges between the two countries, including educational leagues, warm-up matches, and expansion of Cuban players into the KBO League.
