Cuba: U.S. Veto at UN Shows Complicity in Genocide in Palestine

The United States, by vetoing a United Nations Security Council resolution, has demonstrated its complicity in the genocide being carried out by Israel against the Palestinian people, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez said today.

In a message published on X, the foreign minister stated that the “new U.S. veto of a draft resolution at the UN Security Council, which called for an immediate, unconditional and permanent cease-fire in #Gaza and the unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid, demonstrates its complicity with the genocide executed by Israel against the Palestinian people.”

Washington on Thursday blocked a Security Council resolution that demanded an immediate and permanent cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, as well as the release of Israeli hostages. The resolution had been supported by the other 14 members of the body.
