Cuba has contacted the United States Department of State to inquire about its announced willingness to help the Caribbean nation following the passage of Hurricane Melissa, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Carlos Fernández de Cossío reported today.
“Following public communications today regarding hurricane damage, we have contacted the State Department and are awaiting clarification on how and in what manner they are willing to provide assistance.”
