Cuba reported 638 cases of Covid-19 and no deaths

Havana, Mar 4 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Friday reported 638 new Covid-19 cases, accounting for an increase of 42 with respect to the previous day, and no deaths associated with the virus.

The number of patients increased to 7,207 (29 more), including 4,819 suspected cases, 57 under epidemiological surveillance and 2,331 active cases (64 more than the previous day), according to the daily report released by the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap).

Of the total number of cases, 626 were contacts of other infected persons, four had a source of transmission abroad and with eight cases it was not possible to determine the origin of the infection.

Authorities granted 574 medical discharges, so the recovery of nationals reached 1,061,76 million (99 percent of all confirmed cases).

There are 2,231 patients in hospitals or at home, 2,307 of whom are in stable clinical evolution, while 24 are being treated in intensive care units: six are critical and 18 are seriously ill.

Cuba has accumulated 1,071,964 Covid-19 cases since March 11, 2020, and the total number of fatalities has reached 8,498.
