Cuba reported 25 new Covid-19 cases

Havana, Jun 20 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Monday reported 25 new positive cases of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, 15 medical discharges and no deaths.

Hospitalized patients number 257, of which 170 are suspected cases and 87 confirmed active ones, according to the daily report released by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).

Of the total number of cases reported until late Thursday, 20 were contacts of confirmed ones and five of them were infected abroad.

To date, recoveries have risen to 1,097,103 (99.2 percent of all confirmed cases), and all hospitalized patients have a stable clinical evolution.

Cuba has reported 1,105,778 cases since March 11, 2020, and the death toll amounts to 8,529.

Due to such a trend, the lethality rate in Cuba stands at 0.77 percent, much lower than the 1.18 in the world and 1.73 on the American continent, according to a comparison of data provided by MINSAP.
