Cuba regrets victims of landslide in China

Havana, Jun 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez lamented today the loss of human lives in the Chinese province of Sichuan due to a landslide, in the southwest of China.

On Twitter, the Cuban foreign minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the government, the people of the People’s Republic of China and the families and relatives of the victims of the tragic event that took place yesterday night.

A mountainside collapsed on a mining camp near Leshan, Sichuan province, about 240 kilometers from the provincial capital, Chengdu, killing at least 19 people, the Chinese state television CCTV said.

The production and living facilities of a local mining company suffered the collapse of the mountainside, to where specialized search and rescue teams were dispatched, CCTV said.
