Havana, Dec 15 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Thursday has decided to extend the non-commercial import of food, hygiene, good and medicines as accompanied luggage by passengers and exempted from payment of custom tariffs, the Finance and Prices (MFP) informed.

According to the MFP, the measure will be temporally extended through June 30, 2023, with no limits in value and quantities.

Regarding import of these non-commercial products for state-run entities, international economic associations, the statement indicated that an extension of tariff benefits will be granted to “imports to be made in 2023, provided that the goods have been shipped until December 31, 2022”.

The decision took into account the continuing limitations in food, hygiene and medicine supply for domestic market, as well as the tightening of the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba.
