Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuba's Minister of Foreign Affairs, today denounced the danger of a U.S. government military aggression against Venezuela and reiterated Cuba's unwavering and total support for the South American nation.

On his account on the social media platform X, the Chancellor expressed support for the Popular Military Union led by Nicolás Maduro and called on the international community to mobilize to stop the attack and preserve Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.

Rodríguez Parrilla stated that he presented this demand on Wednesday at the 19th Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), which is taking place in Uganda between October 15 and 16.

"Faced with the danger of military aggression, we reiterate our unwavering and total support for #Venezuela and the Popular Military Union, led by legitimate President Nicolás Maduro. We call on the international community to mobilize to stop the attack and preserve Latin America and the Caribbean as a #ZoneOfPeace."

In his address, the Cuban minister pointed out that Washington imposes unilateral coercive measures against developing nations for the purposes of destabilization and domination, which constitutes a threat to international stability.

He rejected the U.S. military deployment in the Caribbean, presented as an anti-drug operation, considering it a violation of International Law and a risk to regional peace.

He also condemned the attacks by the U.S. government against the United Nations and multilateral agreements that are indispensable for facing global challenges.

The Kampala meeting is taking place in a context of growing international tensions, which, according to the Chancellor, reinforces the need to defend multilateralism as a way to address common challenges.

The Cuban Chancellor began an African tour on October 9, with visits to Togo, Benin, and Ethiopia, prior to his participation in the NAM ministerial meeting in Uganda.
