Cuba begins checking internal control in companies

Havana, Sep 19 (Prensa Latina) At least 305 state enterprises across Cuba will be the focus of a National Internal Control Check, from today until early October.

This is the fourteenth activity of this kind to be carried out nationwide after two years of interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and aims to advance in the improvement and transformation of the socialist state enterprise, one of the essential agreements of the VIII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.

Recently, Darlam Dalmau Palomino, Deputy Comptroller General of the Republic, informed the press that the sample of enterprises will be carried out in all provinces and half of the 168 municipalities of the nation.

The official explained that among the issues that will receive special attention are the evaluation of compliance with a package of 43 measures approved by the Government for the strengthening of the business system, and 63 others focused on boosting agricultural production.

He also reported that 2,157 auditors from the National Auditing System and the Comptroller General’s Office are participating in this process, as well as 101 experts from the National Standardization Office and the National Labor Inspection Office, and more than 850 university students from related careers.
