Cuba appreciates rice donation from Vietnam

Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, thanked Vietnam today for the donation of 10,000 tons of rice for the consumption of the Cuban people.

In a message posted on X, Cuban diplomat expressed his country's gratitude to the Vietnamese Party, government and people for this aid, delivered on Saturday at the Mariel Container Terminal.

"It is an expression of the strong and permanent solidarity and brotherhood between Vietnam and Cuba," Rodriguez Parrilla stressed in the referred social network.

During the delivery of the donation, the deputy minister of finance of the Asian country, Le Tan Can, on a working visit to Cuba, highlighted the historic nature of binational ties, and noted that this gesture represented their gratitude and solidarity with the Cuban people.

The delivery of rice is part of the agreements on the Cooperation Plan between the Ministry of Agriculture of Cuba and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, on the promotion of grain production, to gradually ensure food security in Cuba, in the 2025-2027 period, and until 2035.
