Cuba and China reaffirmed strategic collaboration in informatization and cybersecurity during the China-Celac (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) Internet Development and Cooperation Forum, diplomatic sources said.
According to the information published by the Cuban Embassy in China, the Cuban Minister of Communications, Mayra Arevich, attended the meeting and rejected the use of information and communication technologies for discrediting campaigns or political manipulation.
The minister also participated in the sub-forum “Maintaining security in cyberspace together”.
The event was attended by more than 400 representatives of China and 13 countries of that region, gathered under the slogan “Sharing new opportunities in the digital economy and jointly building a community of destiny in cyberspace between China and Latin America”.
According to official sources, participants addressed key issues such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital ecosystem development.
The event was organized shortly after the IV Ministerial Meeting of the China-Celac Forum, which marked a milestone in cooperation and political dialogue between the two regions.
