Covid-19 cases decrease in Vietnam

Hanoi, Aug 20 (Prensa Latina) For the second consecutive day the number of Covid-19 cases registered a slight decrease in Vietnam, after surpassing the barrier of three thousand contagions in the middle of this week.

According to a Saturday report from the Ministry of Health, in the last 24 hours another 2,704 patients and one death were diagnosed, while 6,595 medical discharges were granted.

The total number of people infected since the beginning of the pandemic is now 11,382,258, of which 10,062,585 patients have recovered and 43,104 have died.

At present, 113 people are in serious condition and require respiratory assistance.

To date, Vietnam has administered just over 254 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, mostly to citizens over 18 years of age.
