China, Russia began building nuclear power plants

Beijing, May 19 (Prensa Latina) China and Rusia on Wednesday started the construction works of four cutting-edge reactors for enery generation at nuclear power plants in Tianwan and Xudapu.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, saw the beginning of the construction through a video link and highlighted its relevance for the strategic cooperation between both countries.
In the opinion of Xi Jinping, the project serves as an example to consolidate and expand joint work in other fields.
This construction work is part of a bilateral agreement signed in 2018. The four reactors will be developed with Russian technology and are worth nearly 3 billion dollars.
They are expected to help China fulfill its plan of gradually reducing carbon dioxide emissions until it neutralizes this chemical by 2060.
