Chilean Authorities Dismiss Bomb Threat at Polling Station
especiales

Chile's Carabineros police force dismissed the presence of a bomb today at a polling station located in a school in Valparaíso, allowing authorities to resume voting at the site.
An anonymous call to the police warned of an alleged explosive device in the bathrooms of the Eleuterio Ramírez school, leading to the evacuation of all individuals present and the temporary suspension of voting.
General Patricia Vásquez, Chief of the Carabineros Zone in Valparaíso, reported that an inspection by the Special Operations Group found no evidence of a threat and, therefore, allowed voters and polling station officials to re-enter the premises.
Local authorities noted they have already traced the number from which the call was made to the police emergency line.
