Tegucigalpa, December 10 (RHC)-- A caravan of Honduran migrants began their journey to the United States, fleeing the devastation caused by hurricanes Eta and Iota, leaving the bus terminal in the northern industrial city of San Pedro Sula.

This is the second caravan of Hondurans in 2020 and in the midst of a coronavirus pandemic, so the Guatemalan Migration Institute announced that it maintains monitoring with its Honduran counterparts to coordinate the entry of migrants into their country.

It is estimated that what is being called the "Caravan of Victims" is travelling with a little more than 400 people, including entire families, young people and infants.

Hurricanes Eta and Iota recently left more than 3.5 million people affected by the rains and floods and nearly 100,000 continue in temporary shelters set up by the government, churches and private groups.
