Minsk, Oct 28 (Prensa Latina) The chairman of the Belarus State Military-Industrial Committee, Dimitri Pantus, said that the country will increase the production capacity of reconnaissance and attack drones.

Pantus explained that the possession of this type of unmanned weaponry is a need for the defense of Belarus, the SA Belarus Segodniya newspaper reported on Thursday.

‘Reconnaissance drones and unmanned aerial systems capable of striking first of all from the operational-tactical depth, and preferably, with a wide range of applied means of destruction of different powers are vitally necessary,’ the senior official noted.

‘Assuming that at least each platoon needs one reconnaissance drone, we, as you will understand, will have to increase our production capacities seriously to manufacture the necessary quantity of the respective devices,’ Pantus noted.

In this regard, the official clarified that, like before, the Belarusian Army will need modern and reliably protected tanks and armored vehicles, high-precision weapons with long range and various missiles.

Pantus added that Belarus needs light weapons, a wide range of ammunition, modern means of communication and automated control, as well as electronic warfare and radars.
