Havana, Nov 21 (Prensa Latina) Six decades after having recorded her first attempted debut album, U.S. singer Barbra Streisand dusted off old tunes that currently make up her tenth live album of her career, Live at the Bon Soir.

This selection of 24 songs was recorded for three nights (1962) after the artist signed a contract with the Columbia Records label but then was later discarded in favor of the studio album The Barbra Streisand album (1963), the U.S. song legend website explained.

Recorded when the singer was 20 years old, Live at the Bon Soiremerges on the contemporary sound scene with mixes of the original master tapes protected in Streisand’s personal music vault.

It was by chance because I didn’t intend to be a singer, I was hired at a nightclub around the corner called Bon Soir, with a real stage… and a spotlight, it was 1960, I was 18 years old, and that was the first time in which I felt the heat of that light, the singer recalled.

Likewise, she highlighted the impact of seeing herself in the newspapers’ headlines, the arrival of the contract with the record label, an association that continues up to the present, and the recording of that album which wound up “sleeping in my vault for six decades.”

“I’m thrilled to finally bring to light and share what could have been my debut album, Live At The Bon Soir,” the singer highlighted, considered an icon of her country’s culture with awards in music, movies, and theaters, such as two Oscars, nine Golden Globes, five Emmys, an honorable Tony, and that of the American Film Institute for her entire career.
