Cuban authorities today highlighted on the social network X the ceremonies held across the country as a posthumous tribute by the people to the 32 compatriots who fell during the US aggression against Venezuela.

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, who led the mobilization in Havana, stated that the events held in every locality of the country confirmed that the homeland looks upon the fallen combatants with pride.

Esteban Lazo, President of the National Assembly of People's Power, emphasized that the people also reaffirmed their commitment to the Homeland and the Revolution.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, asserted that at the gatherings, the people of Cuba "said loud and clear 'no' to aggression and threat, 'no' to imperialist attempts to divide us and destroy the Cuban Revolution and Socialism."

With the participation of some 500,000 Cubans, the March of the Combatant People in Havana was the prelude to similar ceremonies in all provinces, as part of the day of tribute to the heroes, which began this Thursday with the arrival of their mortal remains in the homeland.

"When it seems the world buries even its last utopia, that money and technology are above all human dreams, that humanity grows weary, just at that moment, 32 brave Cubans offer their lives and become giants in a fierce battle to the last bullet, to the last breath," Díaz-Canel stated at the Anti-Imperialist Tribune, opening the massive march.

This Thursday, more than 251,000 people paid tribute to the heroes at the headquarters of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), before their mortal remains.

Earlier, during the procession from the José Martí International Airport, a sea of people also gathered on Rancho Boyeros Avenue to honor them.

This afternoon, the remains of the fallen will be laid to rest in the Pantheons of the Fallen for the Defense in their respective localities.

The 32 Cuban combatants were carrying out missions on behalf of the FAR and the Ministry of the Interior, at the request of counterpart institutions in the South American country. They fell in the early hours of January 3rd, either in direct confrontations with the attackers or due to bombings of facilities.

The President of the Republic of Cuba declared two days of National Mourning, from 6:00 a.m. on January 5th until midnight on January 6th.
