Attempts to defeat Russia using Kiev as a battering ram will fail

The West is trying to inflict a strategic defeat on Moscow using Kiev as a tool, but it will not succeed, said today the Eurasian country’s foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov. 
 
According to the note published this Sunday on the website of the diplomatic portfolio, Lavrov pointed out the above during a conversation with his Kyrgyz counterpart, Zheenbek Kulubáyev.

“We are witnessing an unprecedented confrontation between our country and the West, which has decided to re-declare war on us and inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, essentially using the Kiev regime as a tool. The West has never succeeded in this, nor will it succeed this time,” he said.

According to Lavrov, the West “is probably beginning to understand it”. Given the current international situation, the Minister stressed the special importance of close ties with Kyrgyzstan in all areas.

In addition, the senior official noted that despite sanctions and illegitimate pressure, mutual trade between Russia and Kyrgyzstan has increased. Meanwhile, cooperation in several areas is expanding, including on international platforms.

He also stressed that contacts between the leaders of both countries and intergovernmental interaction contribute to strengthening bilateral relations.
