Luanda, Jul 27 (Prensa Latina) The Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported today that the country is continuing preparations to host the tenth summit of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States.

Foreign Minister Téte António reportedly assessed on Tuesday logistics, as well as the details of the agenda and the institutional structure for the great event, scheduled for December 6 to 10 in Luanda.

Composed of 79 countries, the group promotes sustainable development, poverty reduction among its member states and greater integration into the world economy, an official press release noted.

The meeting at the Ministry’s Paulo Teixeira Jorge hall was attended by the members of the working group set up by the Presidency of the Republic to ensure the successful realization of the Summit.

Among the participants were the heads of Culture, Tourism and Environment, Filipe Zau; of Education, Luísa Grilo; of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Maria Bragança Sambo; and of Agriculture and Fisheries, António Francisco de Asís, among other officials.

The celebration in this capital of the 10th Summit of Africa, Caribbean and Pacific States will respond to the principle of rotation of organization’s governing bodies, thus marking the beginning of Angola’s presidency for a period of three years, from 2022 to 2025.
