21st edition of iconic Cuban music festival concluded in central province

To fill with salsa the capital of Cuban speech and leave the people of Ciego de Avila anxious for the next festival, Maykel Blanco and his Salsa Mayor, bid farewell to the Piña Colada Festival in style, leaving open the call for participation in the 22nd edition.

The most awaited event in the center of Cuba, also included in its last day the concert of the renowned ChEvere de la Salsa Cubana Issac Delgado, and at the same time at the headquarters of the Cuban Writers and Artists Association (UNEAC by its Spanish acronym) in this province, the guests from Panama said goodbye to the event with their presentation Leguizamos, dances and traditions.

In addition, at the international stage Patio de Artex S.A., a tribute was paid to the multi-instrumentalist Nelson Oney Peña, musical director of the quintet La Familia and creator of the Jazz Centro Festival, who died four months ago, and a recognition was given to the son of this personality, to whom the event was dedicated.

The event included the 8th Music and Youth Symposium, the presentation of the play "Fatima and the Park of Fraternity", the Choir Meeting, which was attended by the prestigious teacher Digna Guerra Ramirez, Director of the National Choir of Cuba and National Music Award in 2006, and the Subdirection of Artistic Development of the Cuban Institute of Music.

Another event that marked the celebrations was the cultural crusade through educational centers, spaces of social and productive interest, maternity homes, homes for children without family protection and penitentiary centers, with guest artists.

Everything is ready in this Cuban central province to host the 22nd edition of this important festival.
