The group’s publicist, Mark Young, denied that EWF will be part of the March 2016 Havana World Music event, as announced last week by organizers of the festival.

“We don’t know where the information that the band will play at that festival came from, those reports are not accurate,” Young said, declining to rule out an Earth, Wind & Fire performance in Cuba in the future.

EWF is scheduled to perform in Chicago next spring as part of the U.S. tour for the “Heart & Soul” album, Young said.

Organizers of the March 24-27 Havana World Music festival said the lineup will feature Latin Grammy-nominated Mexican band Centavrvs; U.S. mariachi trio Ellas; Spaniards Jorge Pardo and Lin Cortes, and Carolina Camacho from the Dominican Republic.

Cuban artists set to perform at the festival include salsa band Havana D’ Primera, singer-songwriter Kelvis Ochoa, the Yoruba Andabo folk group and jazz newcomers Yissy & Bandancha.
