Havana, Jan 4 (Prensa Latina) With several concerts offering the best of the musical talent of Cuba and New Orleans, the cultural exchange project 'Getting Funky in Havana' will take place in this capital, according to the official website of the event.

This initiative, which seeks to strengthen creative ties based on the strong musical, artistic, and historic past of both cities, will feature US bands The Soul Rebels and Tank and the Bangas, as well as local host Cimafunk.

The shows, scheduled from January 14-17, will also see performances by other Cuban musicians as part of the proposals of the 2020 Havana International Jazz Festival, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the Cuban Institute of Music.

Organized by institutions with a history of cultural exchange, community work, and artistic development, such as Cuba Educational Travel and the Trombone Shorty Foundation, this initiative has the support of the Gia Maione Prima Foundation and Horns to Havana.

The project program will include visits to schools and community projects of the nation, and performances by young US musicians who will travel with the bands.
