Cuba vice minister visits T&T

Strengthening trade links between T&T and Cuba was the focus of an official visit to this country by Ileana Núñez Mordoche, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Cuba.
Her itinerary included courtesy visits to Trade Minister Paula Gopee-Scoon and the T&T Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
The minister was accompanied by Cuba’s Ambassador to T&T Guillermo Vasquez Moreno and a trade official from Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment of Cuba.
During an hour long meeting with Gopee-Scoon, Núñez Mordoche said Cuba is committed to “moving the bilateral trade relations.” T&T’s Trade Facilitation Office in Cuba also came in for high praise from the visiting Cuban delegation.
The cordial discussions centered on key issues of mutual interest for the two countries and at the end of the meeting Gopee-Scoon was presented with an official invitation to the Havana Trade Show, carded for November.
At the T&T Chamber, the delegation met with board director David Hadeed, Navin Seeterram, Trade and Business Development Manager, and Nimret Sandhu Trade and Business Development Officer
In the main, the focus of the talks was on follow-through on initial opportunities explored in last year's fact-finding mission to Cuba, as well T&T's participation in FIHAV Havana 2016.
