Applying national solutions in the use of Information Technology and Communication is decisive to achieve efficiency in Cuban airport operations and services, authorities in that sector said here.
Before the over 250 delegates from Canada, China, Colombia, Cuba, Spain, Mexico and Venezuela present at the Forum of Entrepreneurs and Leaders in Information Technology, Felti 2019, specialists from the José Martí International Airport presented their own programs and systems to raise the automatic control of operations and performance of that installation.
Silvia Velázquez, in charge of the development area of that terminal, explained to Prensa Latina that in the area of science, technology and innovation in the airport of the Cuban capital, software, hardware and systems have been created that allow to increase the efficiency of operations in This terminal and the rest of the country.
It is about improving services to passengers and aircraft with the use of automatic baggage handling, aircraft operations, passenger boarding gateways, air conditioning systems and lights, waiting time and all related to the permanence of the client in the terminal.
Ariel Cepero Díaz, an automatic specialist, said all this work will raise the quality of airport services to the first level through the use of computer tools and digitalization with their own programs, to achieve self-sufficiency and technological sovereignty without depending on third parties.
He commented many of these solutions are in the testing phase and others are already applied with good results such as the reduction of processing time of documents and waiting for passengers, thanks to the automatic control of operations and services, which translate into greater comfort.
During the three days of Felti 2019, it has been confirmed that the use of Information and Communication Technologies in Cuba has become an essential tool to consolidate socio-economic development, as part of the computerization of Cuban society.
