The President and Director of the Louvre, Laurence des Cars, detailed this Wednesday that about twenty urgent measures have been launched to secure the museum, including the installation of one hundred perimeter cameras and a mobile police post inside.

She provided these details while appearing before the Cultural Affairs and Education Committee of the National Assembly, exactly one month after the shocking theft on October 19, in which eight jewels of the French Crown of incalculable heritage value were stolen and have not yet been recovered.

The incident triggered an avalanche of criticism and concern regarding the museum's security and state, heightened by the recent announcement of a gallery closure due to the fragility of the building's beams.

However, in light of the recent robbery, she indicated that about twenty urgent measures have been launched or accelerated to secure the interior and exterior, "such as the installation of one hundred perimeter cameras, which will be completed by the end of 2026, or the installation of a mobile police post inside."
