World record-holder Bolt will be contesting his first 100m since winning gold at the IAAF World Championships Beijing 2015.

“It will be my first international competition in 2016 and my second time to run in Cayman,” said Bolt, who won at the 2013 edition of this meeting in 10.09. “I always enjoy competing in the Caribbean and look forward to meeting my fans in Cayman.”

He will line up against Cayman Islands’ national record-holder Kemar Hyman and Jamaica’s Commonwealth champion Kemar Bailey-Cole.

Felix, the world 400m champion and Olympic 200m champion, will be making her 2016 competitive debut, but she is yet to decide on the event she will contest in George Town.

“I always enjoy competing in the Caribbean and Grand Cayman is one of my favourite islands to visit,” she said.

Fellow US sprinter Carmelita Jeter, the 2011 world champion, will compete over her specialist distance of 100m. The 36-year-old won in George Town in 2012 and 2013, setting a meeting record of 10.95 on her second appearance. She will line up against Jamaica’s Natasha Morrison at this year’s meeting.

Britain’s world finalist Zharnel Hughes, Jamaica’s Jason Young, Antigua and Barbuda’s Miguel Francis and Kenyan record-holder Carvin Nkanata will compete in the men’s 200m.

World junior champion Machel Cedenio, Jamaica’s Jermaine Gonzalez and Britain’s Delano Williams will race over 400m.

USA’s 2013 NCAA champion Kori Carter will take on Jamaica’s World Championships fourth-place finisher Janieve Russell, Shevon Stoddart and Ristananna Tracey in the 400m hurdles.
