According to the medical report released by the Albert Einstein Hospital situated in the West Zone ofSao Paulo, the 74-year-old Brazilian remains in the same room, but due to his improvement he is now only receiving intermediate care.

The former footballer, World Cup winner with Brazil in 1958, 1962 and 1970, is able to walk around his room, is "lucid", and his blood pressure and breathing are good.

After the most recent examinations, doctors decided that, for now at least, it would not be necessary to restart the renal support which he was undergoing until last Sunday. The medical report stated that Pelé, who is rumoured to only have one kidney, is receiving antibiotics intravenously.
