Poll Suggests Possible 20 Percent Support of Democrats to Trump

Some 20 percent of likely Democratic voters currently believe that they could vote against their party and vote for the Republican candidate Donald Trump for President of the United States.

The opinion survey was carried out by the Mercury Analytics pollster, which reviewed the impact of the first announcement of Trump´s campaign, who leads the opinion polls among Republican voters so far.

Ron Howard, CEO of the company, said that they expected Trump´s first announcement to have little impact, or indeed a negative impact, among Democrats and Independents, but it had more effect than expected in the first group.

According to the survey, a quarter of Democrats completely agree that the announcement raises good views, while another 19 percent said they agree with at least part of the Trump´ campaign.

On the contrary, only 14 percent of Republican voters said they would support the other party's front-runner Hillary Clinton.

However, the Washington Post newspaper said it is still too early to pay attention to opinion polls between Democrats and Republicans.
