CAGUA, Aragua – Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro stated this Wednesday that Venezuela is more prepared than ever, both militarily and institutionally, to defend peace in the face of what he described as a psychological warfare campaign being waged by the United States, parallel to its military aggression.
“We have grown stronger in the face of the threat. Fifteen weeks after this escalation of psychological war and military threats began, today we are stronger from a constitutional and institutional standpoint,” the head of state emphasized during his visit to the "General Rafael Urdaneta" Commune in the city of Cagua, Aragua state.
During the event, the head of state signed the official certificate for the 4,000th Commune, on the path to the 6,000 built by the Bolivarian Revolution. In this context, he highlighted that the day's event reflects “the level of direct and participatory democracy that the country possesses, and the strength of communal power.”
Denunciation of US Narrative
Likewise, the head of state denounced the false narrative of the fight against drug trafficking through which the United States wants to justify an aggression against Venezuela: “Since they cannot say that Maduro has weapons of mass destruction, since they cannot say that we have hidden biological and chemical weapons, since they cannot say that we are preparing a nuclear weapon, they invent an outlandish narrative, so false that it collapses and no one believes it, starting with the people of the United States.”
Military Readiness and National Defense
On another front, Maduro highlighted the civic-police-military union and Venezuela's military capabilities to confront any external threat, emphasizing that the country is governed by the concept of a “war of the whole people” and active popular resistance for the integral defense of sovereignty. “Today, militarily, Venezuela has a level of preparation that we have never had before throughout the decades,” pointed out the Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB).
“To imperialism we say: stay away from here, leave Venezuela alone,” expressed President Maduro, stating that the country wants to work to prosper in peace. In that vein, he recalled that “Venezuela never, ever, not today, not ever, has threatened anyone.”
Communal Development and Popular Investment
The "General Rafael Urdaneta" commune, comprised of 14 communal councils and five Bolívar-Chávez Battle Units (UBCH), brings together 12,406 inhabitants and represents a milestone in the construction of Popular Power.
During his visit, the president inaugurated works financed and prioritized by residents through the National Popular Consultation. These include the rehabilitation and conditioning of the "La Segundera" Comprehensive Diagnostic Center (CDI); the provision of medical and technological equipment, including a new X-ray machine to strengthen comprehensive diagnosis; the acquisition of supplies for the Rafael Urdaneta maternity ward; the replacement of the roof of community facilities; and the rehabilitation of the Rómulo Gallegos Early Childhood Education Center (C.E.I.E.).
The head of state stressed that these investments are a direct result of organized citizen participation: “The Popular Consultation is not a formality, it is the mechanism with which the people decide what they need, where and how the money is invested.”
He underscored that the nation's resources are optimized through this democratic model, which allows for channeling community priorities into concrete projects. President Maduro also highlighted that the National Popular Consultation is a constitutional tool that strengthens popular sovereignty and communal management as the axis of the Bolivarian model.
