Tribute to Writer Eliseo Diego at Cuban Book Saturday Event

The traditional "Book Saturday" event, organized by the Cuban Book Institute (ICL) in this capital, presents the book "Eliseo Diego, a conversation in the shadows," published by José Martí Publishing House.

The event is taking place at 11:00 a.m. local time on Calle de Madera, just off the central Plaza de Armas in the heart of Old Havana.

This anthology, which covers both prose and poetry, pays tribute to Eliseo Diego, an emblematic figure of the generation of poets who gathered around the influential literary movement Orígenes, the ICL’s announcement explains.

One of the highlights of this collection is the “poems translated into English, 16 of which were translated by the author himself, which are perhaps the greatest attraction of this selection, designed not only to be given to the reading public but also to keep his legacy alive.”
