Siboney group demands US protection of Cuban Embassy in Washington

Chile's Siboney Cuba solidarity group on Tuesday condemned the criminal attack on the Cuban Embassy in Washington, and demanded that the United States take measures to protect the diplomatic mission.

On the night of September 24, an individual threw two Molotov cocktails from the sidewalk over the perimeter fence at the diplomatic mission, in the second terrorist attack since April 2020.

We call on the international community to express its concern and solidarity with Cuba, and demand that the United States take the necessary measures to ensure that the Embassy is protected and safeguarded, according to international treaties, the organization stressed.

Colectivo 2 de Diciembre also joined the condemnation of this vile and planned terrorist attack and expressed its solidarity with the people and government of Cuba, headed by President Miguel Díaz-Canel.

This aggression only seeks to sow violence and hatred against a dignified and sovereign people, even after the Cuban president’s trip to New York, where he participated in the 78th United Nations General Assembly, the organization pointed out.
