Russia; Patriot missiles would be legitimate target in Ukraine

Moscow, Dec 14 (Prensa Latina) The Kremlin said that U.S. Patriot missile-defense systems would be a legitimate target if supplied to Ukraine, signaling that Russia doesn’t intend to cease its military offensive even in the face of superior weaponry, according to Dimitri Peskov, Kremlin´s spokesperson.

Peskov also explained that he rather did not comment on this issue since these are media reports which are not reliable amid current situation, so it is better to await an official statement.

Previously, the CNN had reported that the Joe Biden administration was in the final stage of the process of approval of its plans to send Patriot missile-defense systems to Ukraine.

According to the CNN, Washington could announce a decision this same week.

The Patriot missile-defense system is a central element for the U.S. Army air defense. It was put into service for the first time in 1984 and will be remain operational in the U.S. armed forces through 2040.
