It’s a selection of pieces from the group's repertoire, including a recent premiere, which have in common the investigation into the multiple sources of an identity, and at the same time, show the stage evolution of the company itself. Those roots have already borne fruit.

The program will begin with Portal del español Juanjo Arqués; right after it, Fauno, by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, one of the most applauded duets staged by Acosta Danza.

The show will continue with Performance, the group's most recent premiere. It’s a creation by the North American choreographer Micaela Taylor, always in collaboration with the dancers, in which an area of confluence between contemporary dance and elements of hip hop is fused.

The duet Nosotros, by Beatriz García and Raúl Reinoso, will recreate the adventures of a love relationship. For the closing, the very lyrical play Alrededor no hay nada, by the Spanish Goyo Montero, one of the first creations for Acosta Danza, which has poems by Joaquín Sabina and Vinicius de Moraes on its soundtrack.

The play Raíces are scheduled for 7:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 14th; and 5:00 p.m., on Sunday 15th. Acosta Danza begins a full year of presentations in Cuba as well as on several international stages, with the commitment to put expressions of Cuban culture on stage in a fruitful dialogue with the universal heritage of dance and art.
