Orquesta Aragón of Cuba to Perform in Bogotá, Colombia
especiales

The legendary Orquesta Aragón of Cuba will perform on the upcoming 19th and 20th at the Galería Café Libro, located in the north of Bogotá, as part of the activities to commemorate its 86th anniversary.
The group, established as one of the island's favorites with the Colombian public, will perform its iconic repertoire of sones, cha-cha-chás, boleros, danzones, mambos, among others.
Just a few months ago, the album Aragón Filarmónico was presented in this capital, fusing traditional Cuban rhythms with the symphonic music of the Bogotá Philharmonic.
The first symphonic recording in the history of the legendary Cuban ensemble became a reinterpretation of its classics such as Cachita, El bodeguero, Sabrosona, Quiéreme siempre, Pare cochero, among others.
Currently, the orchestra founded in 1939 is directed by Rafael Lay Bravo, who maintains the sonic legacy begun by his father, Rafael Lay Apezteguía.
With more than 100 albums in its career, UNESCO recognized the "eterna charanga" as Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2005 and awarded it the Pablo Picasso Medal, which is conferred upon distinguished personalities of art and culture, musicians, or institutions that contribute to the development of music, peace, and international cooperation.
