New multimedia for early childhood education

CIENFUEGOS, Cuba, May 4 (ACN) Peque Ciencia, a multimedia application for families with a view to early childhood education was presented at the 12th International Meeting Presence of Paulo Freire, to be held in the province of Cienfuegos until May 6.

MSc.Samarys de la Paz López, a computer science instructor at a daycare center, told ACN that the digital product features age-based menus that include riddles, stories and experiments for the little ones at home and is very easy to use.

She explained that the application— designed on the Mediator 9.0 platform, a tool used for the creation of pedagogical materials—provides all the necessary didactic resources for homeschooling.

“Now we are working on a second version for one- and two-year-old children,” the specialist added, stressing the relevance of this event as an opportunity to spread the use of Peque Ciencia nationwide and even in other countries.

Dedicated on this occasion to popular education, the International Meeting Presence of Paulo Freire, named after the Brazilian professor who was one of the greatest pedagogues of Latin American, hosts more than 200 delegates from Mexico, United States, Argentina, Colombia and Cuba.
