National Ballet of Cuba holds meetings on dance art

The National Ballet of Cuba (BNC), under the general direction of Viengsay Valdés, continues today its cycle of conferences in tribute to the 75th anniversary of the prestigious company, the largest in Cuba.

An encounter with dance, technique, expression and styles” is the title of the didactic program, which will be given by dance historian Miguel Cabrera.

On Friday 22, at 2:00 p.m. local time, the colloquium will be held at the Ministry of Communications Theater, where dancers Nadila Estrada and Alejandro Alderete will perform, according to the BNC website.

In addition, the Spanish Dance of the third act of the ballet “Swan Lake” will be performed by Chavela Riera and Yankiel Vázquez.

From the same play, the Dance of the Four Swans in the second act, will be staged by Alianed Moreno, Melaine Leyva, Paloma Blanco and Camila Alfonso.

This way of paying tribute to the BNC and, at the same time, this feedback on the teaching of the art of dance, is a constant work of the company.

For decades the institution promotes these activities in order to offer the art of ballet to all the people of Cuba, as well as the knowledge to better appreciate it through an idea conceived by Alicia Alonso.
