President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro on Wednesday marked the 99th anniversary of the birth of Commander Fidel Castro Ruz, whom he described as an eternal leader, an example of rebellion and humanism whose influence continues to shape the history of Latin America and the Caribbean.
In a message shared on his social media accounts, the head of state emphasized that Fidel is not the past, he is a present that continues to write history with a truly impeccable legacy. He described him as a hurricane of leadership, strategist and visionary, capable of combining mathematical precision and scientific thought in direct connection with the needs of the Cuban people.
The Venezuelan leader recalled the deep brotherhood between Venezuela and Cuba, affirming that Fidel loved Venezuela and that Venezuela loved him in return.
He also urged new generations to cultivate the spirit of study, knowledge, and creativity that the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution left as his legacy.
Maduro highlighted that Fidel’s trajectory is a compass for current struggles for justice and dignity, guiding the path toward building the Patria Grande envisioned by Latin America’s founding fathers.
